I read that it was at the Merchant. We should go support it, probably.
Apparently people started booing him, so management decided he was a disturbance and politely asked him to leave. Protip: when you’re a governor and you can’t go to a public place in the capitol of your state (especially if it’s Madison, WI) YOU ARE DOING IT WRONG.
EDIT: Do you think if a bunch of us followed him around and booed him for a few days/weeks Obama would ask him to step down…?And I thought he was going to be brown-bagging it to work once he was in office … Ooops.
UPDATE: Punked
It looks like this story is false and possibly a publicity stunt to attract anti-Walker customers. The original story has been removed and The Merchant’s entire Facebook page has been scrubbed of any reference to the alleged incident.
“When BadgerBlogger called The Merchant Restaurant to confirm the story, the staff refused to confirm or deny, and continued to obfuscate until they hung up the phone… But in fact, they didn’t hang up, it appears that they accidentally put the phone on speaker…. And BadgerBlogger tapes continued to roll.”
BadgerBlogger claims the audio of the call captures the restaurant staff talking about how they have to take down the blog posting because people are starting to call about it, you can actually hear them logging into the blog and deleting it.
Walker’s staff says he’s never been to that restaurant. Scott Walker is sure to be more careful these days and not going to be out in public for a Fish Fry.
Sometimes you just don’t know who to believe.
